Aliko Dangote was born on the 10th of April 1957 in Kano state, Nigeria.

As a child, he was born with a silver spoon.

He was born to a very wealthy Muslim home and is the great-grandson of the popular Alhaji Alhaasan Dantata.

Dantata was the richest man in all of West Africa during his time.

He remained the richest in this region till he passed away in 1955.

Dangote attended the Sheikh Ali Kumasi Madrasa and then he proceeded to the Capital High School in Kano State, Nigeria.

Aliko Dangote started his company ‘Dangote Group‘ back in 1977.

In 2012, Aliko Dangote arranged with the NPA (Nigerian Ports Authority) to rent out an abandoned land at the Apapa seaport.

This was approved, so he used this to build mighty structures including a flour producing company.

Moreover, that was actually not the first time he had approached governmental bodies for deals.

Way back in the 90s, he even met with CBN (Central Bank of Nigeria).

He disclosed how it would be less expensive for the financial institution to permit his transport company to manage all their buses.

Dangote donated for the restructuring of the National stadium at Abuja.

This later died down, but there are reports that the billionaire is still interested in the deal.

Dangote accounts for a whopping 70% of the market supply of sugar.

He is the major supplier to different beverage companies both within and outside the nation.

With an annual production volume clocked at about 800,000 tonnes of sugar, his refinery remains safely the largest in Africa yet.

Aside from owning a sugar refinery, he also owns different flour Mills and salt factories.

He is the major importer of cashew nuts, sesame seeds, ginger, and many other products.
