1. BURNA BOY
Burna Boy was born Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, on July 2, 1991. He is an outstanding musician in the African music industry, and this is rightly so because he has paid his dues in the industry.
He is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, rapper and dancer and is one of the most successful artists to come out of Africa.
Since his emergence, we have enjoyed Burna Boy songs back to back. He doesn’t fail to show up for his fans with some dope music.
Burna Boy won Best International Act at the 2019 BET Awards.
He was nominated for the 62nd Grammy Awards for Best World Music Album, but he didn’t win this category. However, in 2021, he won the award for Best World Music at the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards.

2. WIZKID
Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun professionally known as Wizkid is doubtless one of Africa’s biggest and most successful artists.
Wizkid was born on July 16, 1990, in Surulere, Lagos, Nigeria. He lived and grew up in Nigeria and rose to prominence after releasing ‘Holla at Your Boy’ in 2011.
Starboy as he’s also called has since then released countless singles and studio albums that were critically and commercially successful.
Wizkid is one of Nigeria’s most decorated artists. He has received several international recognitions and recently won a Grammy Award for his collaboration on Beyonce’s The Lion King: The Gift soundtrack.

She is a creative musical goddess and has been flying the flag of Africa all over the world with her music.
Kidjo was born on July 14, 1960, in Ouidah, Benin, and she started singing at a young age. She performed with her mom and also in her school band.
Kidjo has won several awards and has received international recognition for her contributions to the African music industry and the world at large.
She is a 3 time Grammy Award winner.
4. DAVIDO
David Adedeji Adeleke popularly known as Davido, is a Nigerian-American singer, songwriter, and record producer. He was born on November 21, 1992
He is one of the most influential artists in Africa. Davido rose to fame after releasing “Dami Duro”, one of the songs that made him a superstar.
Davido has released a number of hit singles since he rose to prominence. In 2016, he signed a record deal with Sony’s RCA.
Davido has over 2.5 million subscribers and 885 million views on YouTube.

Naseeb Abdul Juma Issack who is popularly known as Diamond Platnumz is a Tanzanian bongo Flava recording artist, actor, dancer, philanthropist and businessman.
He is the founder and CEO of WCB Wasafi Record Label, Zoom Extra, Wasafi TV, a Tanzanian media outlet, and Wasafi Fm, a radio station in Tanzania.
Diamond Platnumz is also among the most popular artists in East and Central Africa.
He has had several hit songs and has been awarded numerous awards. He is the first Africa-based artist to reach a combined total of 900 million YouTube views.
Platnumz has worked with several other African artsists including Davido, Patoranking, Teni and Burna Boy.

6. SLAPDEE
Mwila Musonda, widely known by his stage name Slapdee (or Slap D) is a Zambian hip hop and rap musician. He is often regarded as one of the pioneers of Zambian hip-hop. Slapdee has won multiple awards since his debut in 2006, and he is one of the biggest stars in Africa.

7. YEMI ALADE
Yemi Eberechi Alade popularly known as Yemi Alade is a Nigerian Afropop singer, songwriter, actress and activist. She was born on 13 March 1989
She won the Peak Talent Show in 2009 after which she signed to Effyzzie Music Group, and had a hit with her single “Johnny” in 2014.

Busi is a South African singer, songwriter, and poet. She was born on November 8, 1988, in Mthatha, Eastern Cape, South Africa.
Busiswa came to the limelight through her feature in DJ Zinhle’s song, ‘My Name Is.” She was discovered by Kalawa Jazmee’s CEO, Oskido.

Maya Christinah Xichavo Wegerif who is known professionally as Sho Madjozi was born on 9 May 1992.

10. MR.EAZI
The emPawa boss, Mr Eazi just had to make it to our Top 10 Best Musicians in Africa 2021 list. Mr. Eazi is a Nigerian singer, songwriter and businessman.
He is the pioneer of a genre of music he calls Banku music. Banku is a fusion of Nigerian highlife and Nigerian chord progressions and other elements.
Mr Eazi is currently dating Temi Otodola, daughter of Nigerian billionaire Femi Otedola.
