The Federal government of Nigeria has sealed a partnership with tech-giant company, Microsoft Corporation to breach the gap of technological problem in communities in Nigeria.

The initiative which will commence in the next few months is expected to ‘cover areas of intersection between technology and governance’ and help deliver value to Nigerians.

According to the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osibanjo who made the announcement on his twitter handle at @ProfOsibanjo on Monday, 3rd April, the decision is as a result of the outcome of the discussions he held in January 2021 with the Microsoft Corporation President, Mr. Brad Smith.

Prof. Osibanjo who reiterated his excitement at the pace the initiative have moved, noted that the government of Nigeria is committed to leveraging innovation and technology to bring better outcomes across a wide area of governance concerns.

He added, ”indeed, it is with this in mind that we have sought constructive partnerships that bridge the knowledge, skills and technology gap that exist in most of our communities.
