1. FARMERS RAID KIDNAPPERS DEN WHERE INDIAN HEMP, SPECIAL DOGS ARE TRAINED IN KOGI

A group of bold hunters raided a kidnapping den in Osaro, Okehi Local Government Area of Kogi state, destroying a large farm of Indian hemp belonging to the kidnappers. The farmers who swoop in on the kidnappers discovered the kidnappers had turned the farm into a breeding ground for dogs which they used to ward off visitors. To confirm the story, Chairman of Okehi Local Government Area, Hon Abdulraheem Ohiare said the LGA will continue to hunt down bandits in the area. READ MORE:

2. T.B JOSHUA TO BE BURIED JULY 9 – FAMILY SOURCE SAYS

The family of founder of Synagogue Church of All Nations, late Prophet Temitope Joshua have fixed his burial for July 9. A family member of the late clergy disclosed that T.B Joshua who died last week in Lagos after holding a church service at the age of 57 will be buried in Lagos as against the expectations of monarch of Arigidi Akoko, Oba Yisa Olanipekun who wanted the clergy to be buried in his hometown. 3. M.K.O ABIOLA SON SAYS DEMOCRACY CELEBRATED, NOT WHAT FATHER DIED FOR

As Nigerians bask in the euphoria of the new date of Nigeria’s democracy, Kola Abiola, the son of the acclaimed 1993 June 12 presidential election has said that the democracy celebrated in Nigeria was the same Democracy Nigerians laid their lives for. Abiola who expressed deep disappointment said, ”I am not impressed with the democracy that we are in today, because it is not what my father and others died for. 4. JAMB EXTENDS UTME REGISTRATION TO JUNE 15

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, JAMB has extended the 2021/2022 Unified Tertiary Matriculations Examination to June 15 for candidates who could not complete the registration process. The Spokesperson of JAMB Fabian Benjamin in a statement on Monday titled “Completion of 2021 UTME/DE registration for candidates who did not register within the stipulated time and the extension period,” explained that ”at the end of the period originally scheduled for the 2021/2022 Unified Tertiary Matriculations Examination and Direct Entry registration on May 15, the registration period was extended.” READ MORE:

5. FEDERAL GOVERNMENT DISSOLVES ATHLETICS FEDERATION BOARD

The Federal Government of Nigeria on Monday, June 14 dissolve the board of Athletics Federation of Nigeria. The dissolution was contained in a statement signed by the media aide to the Minister of Sport and Youth Development, Mr John Joshua- Akanji. The ministry noted, “Pursuant to article 10.4 of the 2017 constitution of the Athletics Federation of Nigeria, the ministry hereby dissolve the board of the AFN. “We have advised that the elections should be organised in accordance with the 2017 constitution of the AFN as contained in the agreement reached at the reconciliation meeting held in Abuja last April and brokered by the Confederation of African Athletics and World Athletics.” READ MORE: https://punchng.com/fg-dissolves-athletics-federations-board/

6. EMIR OF ZAZZAU CRIES OUT OVER INCESSANT ATTACK BY BANDITS

The Emir of Zazzau, Ahmad Bamalli has lamented that his emirate has been colonized by bandits who are now launching incessant attacks Zaira city. The Emir made it known on Monday when a delegation of heads of security agencies led by the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samula Aruwan in Kaduna visited him at his palace. 7. GUNMEN OPENS FIRE ON 10 PERSONS AT A DRINKING JOINT IN KOGI

At least 10 persons have been killed in Kashe (Sabon Layi) community, Kuru District of Jos South Local Government at a drinking joint. The Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Ubah Ogaba in a statement confirmed that the unidentified gunmen stormed the place in a Hilux and opened fire on the unsuspecting people who were sitting out at the joint. 8. NIGERIANS ARE HUNGRY, FRUSTRATED – NORTHERN CAN LEADERS TELL FEDERAL GOVERNMENT

The Christian Association of Nigeria in the 19 Northern States and the Federal Capital Territory have said that June 12 celebration was of no use to Nigerians as they are hungry and frustrated from the current debilitating economic situation in the country. In a statement signed by its Public Relations Officer, Rev. Jechonia Albert and titled, ’DEMOCRACY DAY, INSECURITY AND THE LOOMING FOOD CRISIS’ on Monday; the group said, “Amid increasing insecurity, bad economy and undemocratic tendencies among the leaders, is there anything really worth celebrating? 9. REGINA DANIELS’ HUSBAND, NED NWOKE EXONERATED OF LAND GRABBING ALLEGATION

A review of land documents and investigative reports by relevant authorities has confirmed that Regina Daniels husband, Ned Nwoko duly acquired the land on which he is building a golf course and a university in his hometown in Delta State. Ned Nwoko’s acquisition of 90 hectares of land for a golf course and another two miles by two miles parcel of land for a university had sparked controversy at his native Idumuje-Ugboko in Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State.
